JF products installation for P3d v4 folder
-
@Pilot101 Inside your main P3D folder means that you will have to re-install the aircraft each time P3D is updated. In the add-on folder removes this problem but if, like me, you have a small drive for your OS then you will be limited in the number of aircraft you can add there. I wish there was a choice of where you want to install the aircraft outside the sim!

@Delta558 Hi Delta , thanks but i dont understand about re installing aircraft. I had P3d v3 and updated it to version 4 with no problems and kept most my aircraft. Also last time i went to add an aircraft to V4 it seemed to give options of folders out side the sim. So although i follow your point i do not appear to have that problem. Any other suguestions?

When you installed P3d v4 did you only do the Client. msi installation?. Or did you install the .msi files after only deleting each of the three file installers in turn?
If so you retained the .xml settings from P3D v3 including the addon aircraft NOT in the SimObjects\Airplanes folder. So when you say
most
aircraft were kept the chances are the only ones that weren't were the ones in the Airplanes folder. This is but one example of the advantage L-M give you from using the outside-the-sim option.
