Where can i get missing Liveries?
-
Hello there,
great Product with several Weaknesses. But that's okay for me. But i am highly disappointed about the Mass of missing Liveries like A319 and A320 in KLM Paint. A Product in this Price Class in my Opinion has to deliver all Aircraft of the Major Airlines around the World. Of course in accurate Paintings.
So, where can i get the Missing Liveries? And of Course free of any additional Charges. The Product is expensive enough. Also, i am no Painter and don't want to hassle with DDS-Files to make my own Liveries.
Do you deliver Missing Liveries or will you refund me?Greets

A Product in this Price Class in my Opinion has to deliver all Aircraft of the Major Airlines around the World. Of course in accurate Paintings.I'm afraid that is no way possible in any commercial sense. I doubt even Apple would be able to do that and make it work commercially. We have included 60+ aircraft and 800+ liveries, which is a lot for the price. That's less than $1 per aircraft - and that's before you take into account the coding to make AI traffic work in the X-Plane environment. At 50% traffic setting the level of AI is fine for most users. NB that we would expect most users to fly with 'missing liveries' turned off.
That said, I have already heard from one repainter who is adding freeware liveries to Avsim for TG. We will probably add a few more when we do future updates and make a few changes (remove Thomas Cook, update EasyJet etc) but not a significant amount.
Just for clarity - this is a precis of what I wrote on another forum in answer to "why are there so many missing liveries?" I hope it helps explain why we included that feature and why not every carrier can be represented.
The whole thing with 'missing' liveries as a 'problem' is something of a red herring. The system is designed that way because that's something that users have wanted in previous versions of Traffic (we've been making them since 2001). The easy option is to only include flights that have planes and liveries. That way, no one sees anything missing. It's impossible to provide every plane and every scheduled flight, so in a bog-standard add-on you include a set of flight plans for just the planes you've got. However, FS users being what they are, people soon want to add planes, liveries, flights whatever. Also, they want more realistic flight plans.
So, the solution (we think) is to use a real-world database of flight plans, a very good selection of high quality models (that don't mess up frame rates) and a decent set of liveries (ditto about frame rates). What planes and liveries to include is based on flight frequency and region, so there will, by definition, be many flights in the world that aren't featured. At this point you get the traffic program to show flights where planes and liveries exist but, also, give the users the option to access the other flights if the plane exists and the option to show it in-sim as a white (or black, in the case of the sim that must not be named) aircraft. That way, if you want to repaint your aircraft you can do and they will be added to the live flights - ie, when you switch off the setting it will ignore any without a livery and your painted aircraft will now be flying. -
If you read my Post the right Way, you can see, that i was talking about the Major Airlines around the World for the most common Aircraft they use. I wasn't talking about Liveries of any "Island Hopper" in this World.
In my Opinion, you should state very clearly on the Products Website, that there are more Liveries missing than included. If i knew that before, i had never bought this Product. -

I would love to find out where the files are, I have performed a search at AVSIM and could not find anything.

Thank you for providing the link Derek.
