F27 2D Main Cockpit Panel

I recently returned to this lovely aircraft having given up as I just can't get on with the VC main cockpit panel. I still can't fly with it, so I'm hoping someone has found a good freeware 2D panel that I could download and install. Could such a panel be installed so I retain the supplied VC overhead panels etc?
I saw several threads which suggest I'll just have to get used to VC, but until I get to affording a VR system that isn't going to happen.
It appears many others don't like the lack of 2D panels so I don't feel like I'm on my own on this one.
