Struggling to start engine from cold and dark.

Hey folks,
Wondering if anyone can help. Recently got the Arrow III for MSFS.. really struggling to start the engine from cold and dark.
My procedure is :
Fuel Selector Left
Battery on
Alt on
Fuel Pump on
Mixture Rich (fuel flow and fuel pressure is displayed)
Propeller 100%
Throttle 20%
Turn magneto to start and holdHowever the engine never catches and pretty much immediately the fule pressure drops to 0 and stays in that state regardless of me then repeating the above procedure (fuel pressure does not display when increasing the mixture)
Is there anything I'm doing wrong?

@shutts Can you clarify what you mean by "fuel pressure does not display when increasing the mixture"? Don't you already have the mixture at full?
I think the checklist says to set mixture cutoff, and move it to rich as soon as the engine catches. But MSFS doesn't allow this right now, so you have to either just leave the mixture at full, or advance it while holding the magneto on start instead of after. (In MSFS, mixture cutoff = engine off)

@vcapra1 Upon repeating the procedure after the initial failed start, I switch the fuel pump on, set mixture to rich and the fuel pressure gauge doesn't register anything..
I've fired the sim up today and have gone through the above procedure again.. and it all starts first time now. Such is life.

@shutts Next time look at the volts on your battery. It was probably too low. Having the battery switched on while futzing with the radios and nav systems (with lighting on, too) will drain the battery fairly quickly, preventing the electronic fuel pump from working. You can recharge the battery from the EFB. You can also disable the “State Saving” feature and restart the flight from the Main menu—which will reinitialize everything (from a new [not saved] state).
