747 Classic Progress
-
JF have been at the Flight Sim Show in Cosford all weekend. I suspect that it'll take a day or so for normal service to resume. You can search on YouTube however for a recording of the seminar given by JF on the 747. May answer some questions you may have. It also should give you an insight into what goes into the development of a product such as the 747 and what you'll be getting in terms of level of detail with this release.

Hi guys,
We recorded the 747 presentation on Saturday and we hope to be able to make it available to everyone later this week.@Panny said in 747 Classic Progress:
Though I do have a request, I would love to hear a sample of the JT9Ds or RB211s if possible.
I'll see if we can get a short video together soon.
@Panny said in 747 Classic Progress:
In addition, I wanted to put in a request - could the manuals on things like takeoff performance, EPR, cruise etc be in charts and tables, akin to the documents from the Aerosoft DC-8? I like Just Flight manuals, but i find with analogue aircraft some performance data is lacking.
The manual will feature this information.

I was wondering if the 747 is coming next month
-
Anything JF? What about the video from the convention?
Any update pics for the fuselage or engines?
-
@Captain-Bakon When the time is right we'll supply a new set of pics for your delectation. It's not straightforward, with many things having to come together for us to progress and take a set of new pics to show to everyone. But we want to ensure they are correct and as close as possible to the finished thing to avoid any further rumblings and disappointment.
It's starting to look great now but just some pieces to fit together and then we'll be ready. A rough guide...towards the end of next week before showing it off but even that's no set in stone. It'll be worth the wait though, of that we're sure.
As always thanks for your interest, it's appreciated.

@Voice-of-Reason Can you please give us a rough rundown of what’s been done so far on the plane?
Is the 747 classic going to be study level?
-
I think that has been answered before. You can also check the product page on the website for a feature list which is lengthy.
-
@Captain-Bakon Blimey, that would take weeks, I have work to do. It's all covered on the Product Page though. It's mostly all in there now, just bits to add, fine-tune, test etc...
-
@Voice-of-Reason This is looking great and I think this will be your masterpiece for decades to come in the flight sim community.
I just hope we get it before Christmas. I wanna fly a 747 to the North Pole Polar Express style but with wings!
-
Ok so I looked at the page and it's definitely a study level sim, I just can't believe we are getting one for the 747 classic!
What is the price range going to be? maybe not the $140 as other add ons, I would say $60-90 possibly?
JF can you please confirm?
-
@Captain-Bakon Price and details will be announced in due course.
-
I noticed while looking at some of the pictures that some cockpits have both a analogue and digital temperature gauge. Is the digital for the -200 and vice versa?
-
I was thinking maybe if Just Flight can release the 747 now as a open beta or early access, paid of course.
I see other devs doing this and I think it's a great way to get the community involved in development, expand the testing pool to catch more bugs so the final product will be near bug-less.
-
Can the 747cl be released in October?
-
@centurion88 No that's not going to happen.
-
@Captain-Bakon No we won't be doing that with the 747. We have several testers actively checking each new build so we're covered in that respect.
-
Well we were thinking it would be ready by December.
-
Just a question, will the new model you guys are working on look more like the real thing? as in the JT9Ds having a upward angle when mounted on the wings?
These engines are mounted upwards a bit when looking at photos of the -200.
