747 Classic Progress

I don't know - it will depend how long it takes to complete it. When we have more new we will make announcements. Thank you for your interest.

@derek said in 747 Classic Progress:
Hi there. Yes, our 747 is for P3D and then MSFS. It is not for X-Plane.
Totally understand your decision behind you cancelling plans for an XP version, though I would like to know if such plans do also apply to your upcoming A300 (I of course hope that this will not be the case)
-
The 747 was planned for P3D from Day 1, not X-Plane. I think it's unlikely we'll do an X-Plane version, but we might if there is any demand. X-Plane 12 is coming out soon of course, which might complicate matters.
The DCS version is definitely cancelled :-)

@derek is there any information on what is currently being worked on in relation to the addon? Systems, model, animations, sounds, etc? I really hope there’s some fixes being applied to the model, and if that’s the case, take as long as you all need.
-
It's been a while since there's been any new screenshots released of this beaut - any chance we might be lucky enough get some more at some point? Or even better some sounds/footage?
Either way I've now a nice route network lined up for some Cargo Ops for when it's ready :) -
Will there be an Airforce One livery ... isn't it a 747 200 ?
Maybe I'm confused 🤪 -
@simeonwilbury Sorry, nothing to show or report back on at the moment. As soon as there is we'll bring it to you. Thanks for your patience.
-
@gabe777 Surprisingly enough the VC-25 didn't enter service until 20 years after the 747, back in 1990, so Bush Sr. was the first prez to get a ride in the queen of the skies.
@Voice-of-Reason any info on what is being worked on? Systems, rework of model, both?
-
No news whatsover for a loooong time...kinda lost hope for this one.
And i got this feeling that the reason why is that they ditched P3D for a MSFS only release.Brgds,
Steven -
I think the Classic is niche.... O3D is slowly becoming niche.... makes financial sense I guess.
-
@belgiantiger_2 That's not the reason but nice try. The reason as we have explained previously is because the projects lost its way and progress was painfully slow. We've now brought a new developer and new expertise onto the project but it's meant a lot of coding has has to be redone or reworked so just at the moment it's a lot of grunt work getting done meaning we're unable to give a precise update. Thanks for your patience.

I have been waiting for this for a very long time and its very sad that is still not out. I am glad that a new team is working on it but it really should have been out years ago. Time to just get it done, simplify as much as possible and get it out ASAP. At this point I would be happy if you just did the minimum to get the CLS 747-200 working in V5.
-
Nope, no simplification please. These things take time to develop & I'm more than happy to wait for a thorough systems simulation rather than anything rushed.
-
@simeonwilbury I agree with this, they can take as long as they need as long as they make it work near flawlessly and fix all the issues with the exterior model.
-
Better to have something good today than have something perfect never. And they will have to charge so much to cover the costs that nobody will be able to afford it. As it is the only choices I see for V5 is PMDG which is too complex and very very expensive, and the old FSX default so for now that is what I am stuck using.
