Will you release it by February? I won't use my PC next month, for I'm leaving home for school, I just can't wait to fly it.

@centurion88 No that won't happen, a few months still left of the development schedule yet, sorry.

How is development progressing? Can we see the 747 before summer?

@Captain-Bakon That's the aim, yes. Look out for some new In Dev screenshots making an appearance very shortly too.

So like March?

So like March?
@Captain-Bakon No definitely not. A while after that and can't give you a date, even a month just now as it's just guesswork. As and when we're more confident of dates we'll give more details. Hope that helps for now.

Is summer a good guess?

@Captain-Bakon It's a guess, whether or not it's a good one remains to be seen.

Release next month? I keep seeing more and more pictures, although it would be nice to see some new photos of the night cockpit too.

@Captain-Bakon Yeah I was kinda getting worried that JustFlight forgot about this for a second, but it looks like they're putting on some.. final touches?
When can we expect release, by now you guys should be able to tell I assume?

@alexsoany why do you assume?

Not sure if this is an original statement or not, but I would love to see an add on pack for the "Special" 747's. The VC-25A (Air Force 1), E-4B Nightwatch (Doomsday Command Post) which could be 3d models only, no need for systems or Flight Model Changes. The big one that would need a flight model change would be NASA's Shuttle Carrier. 3 Icon's of old school 747 lineage, and honestly the baddest four sevens to ever take to the sky's.

It would be great to see those along with the Super Pig, -100 and -200 Combis, and the -300 variants, pax, combi, and BCF

All, work continues but there's still lots to do, test, tweak and so on so an April release is out of the question. Will update with more pics and hopefully videos in the coming weeks but for now at least you can put your credit cards away :)
Thanks to all of you for the interest you're showing in the project.

This is looking like a great add on, I just pray that focus goes into ensuring the flight dynamics and ground handling model are correct and that resources are diverted into systems, high quality base textures up to the standards of freeware developers like Tavers, and the flight deck rather than novelty stuff like fancy cabin designs that waste PC (and development :P) resources.
Please.... make it a good one and worth the wait. This aircraft deserves to be done justice!
I know the folks at BAVirtual are anticipating this one and are hopeful that it delivers on quality!

The flight dynamics base was the calculated figures for the early 747 from Roskam's paper, "Airplane Flight Dynamics and Automatic Flight Controls Part I". Further to that, a thorough reading (multiple times!) and application of information therein of "Handling the Big Jets, third edition" by D.P. Davies (chapter 9).
Those were the two primary sources, alongside a rather large selection of original manuals and flightcrew's notebooks.
With regard to the ground handling, the undercarriage is being coded seperately to the flight model because it is so complex - should resolve the usual problems inbuilt to the sim that we often see in that area.
I hope it'll be close enough!

When can expect to hear a time frame for release this year?
