Questions about some controls

Hello all. I'm just getting to grips with this fine aircraft, but have a few questions about some of the controls that I haven't quite figured out yet.

What is the Navigation switch on the dashboard for, the one labeled in the manual as "Flight steering computer mode switch"? I can't seem to get it to do anything, whereas the autopilot seems to manage the same functions just fine.
What is the Yellow and black needle on the ASI for, it doesn't seem to move?
On the ASI, whats the function of the adjuster knob, is it just a pointer to indicate a desired speed, or does it link in with the autopilot in some way?
