engine off / gear down

I have X-Plane 11.41 and tried some engine off landings (which is nothing you would usually train in the real thing ;-) ). But when I switch off the engine (via magnetos or via fuel to idle-cut off) the gear comes down. I‘m quite sure this is not how it works on the real thing. So coming down on best glide speed in clean configuration is not possible. Any idea?
