Is Just Flight still developing/updating P3D products?
-
I've used most major flight sims out there including MSFS and I end up using P3Dv5 most of the time. I am a huge fan of JF and their products. I have a lot of JF FSX/P3D aircraft and other products I've bought over the years but it's been quite a while since JF released any P3D aircraft or other products (that I know of) or even updated existing products.
Is Just Flight still developing anything or working on updates for P3Dv5 & 6 aircraft?
I really want to know because I've been waiting patiently for a very long time for new planes and updates for existing planes like the VC-10 Professional for P3Dv5. I only have FSX:SE and P3Dv5 (no versions in between), so I have to fly it in FSX and it uses so much VAS that I have to literally disable every bit of my scenery to fly the plane in vanilla FSX so I don't get an OOM error and FSX crash, even then I can't fly to New York, Chicago, etc. because I will always get an OOM which is why I hardly fly the plane at all, $60 down the drain I wasted and I love vintage airliners...
Please Just Flight, don't give up on P3D, there's plenty of us that still use it.

I guess the answer is no since no representative (or anyone else) is responding or this forum is dead... [crickets chirping]
I really hope JF is not giving up on P3D, I enjoy it way more than MSFS and I know I'm not the only one. Just go check the P3D section over at Avsim and it's always hopping over there so there's plenty of people still using it and looking for more products to buy.
With the hundreds of dollars I've spent on JF products I hoped I would at least get a response, just a yes or no would have been nice...

Sorry you haven't had a reply. TBH we don't spend as much time in the forum as we'd like. All the action is over on FB and the MSFS official forum nowadays. Which, I suppose, answers your question to a degree. We cancelled our last two P3D/FSX projects (747 and A300) some time ago: https://www.justflight.com/articles/p3d-development-halted-for-our-747-classic-and-a300b4200
The market for P3D evaporated when MSFS came out - far faster than the FS2002 market transitioned to 2004 and 2004 to FSX. We have no plans to do anything new for P3D at the moment and while our support team will always do their best to assist with existing products, we are unlikely to be able to do any updates for older titles.

@Derek Thank you for the reply, and for you honesty, I very much appreciate that. Too bad you canceled those products because I would have bought them. You guys have made some of the most interesting and unique light, mid level and study level payware aircraft for FSX and P3D ever made in my opinion. I do understand though, MSFS is where the money is so the developers follow.
I (still) use all flight simulators released since 2002 and MSFS is the one I use the least, I really hate the flight modelling. Every MSFS aircraft I've flown, both default and payware aircraft, has an arcade-like feel to it and I can't stand that. They all feel so unrealistic compared to FSX/P3D and XP11 & 12. There's something with the MSFS flight modelling that just feels so very wrong to me. I will never spend another penny on MSFS again and I certainly will not buy MSFS 2024 when it's released.
I always been a huge fan of your aircraft because of their quality and uniqueness, including FSX, P3D and X-Plane 11 & 12 aircraft, I probably own at least a 15 JF planes or more all together that I've collected over the years and I still fly them all today.
I much prefer your GA planes over Carenado. I love everything from your line of light aircraft like the Pipers as well as vintage/classic planes. JF was really the only FSX/P3D developer that was willing to make so many classic prop airliners like the Viscount, HS 748, F27 and jets like the Comet, DC-8 (I like yours better than Aerosoft's), 1011 TriStar, Concord, 146, the CLS planes and so many others. I could go on and on and on...
Flight models always felt good and very realistic, systems are done well on most (or with just minor bugs) and the 3D modeling and texture work is great on most your planes, taking their age into consideration.
I do want to give a big thanks to you and to the entire Just Flight team for everything you've all created over the years for FSX & P3D as well as X-Plane, I am so grateful for all of the JF aircraft I'm lucky enough to have the honor and pleasure to fly.
That brings me to another question, do you still plan to develop or at least continue to update XP11 planes for XP12? I see the C152 and Duchess have been updated, what about the rest?
Thanks

We have updated some of the XP11 content to install into XP12 but our plans are to release new versions of our XP11 aircraft that will take advantage of all the new features in XP12. We should be formally announcing the first one shortly and then, depending how that goes, working through the rest of the catalogue as time permits.
