TBM850 Transponder mode at startup and drawing attention to mods
-
I'm really enjoying the TBM850. It's already a very impressive aircraft at the 1.0.0 release, and I'm looking forward to some improvements that the upgrade brings.
One small issue that I've noticed is that when I turn on the Radio/avionics, the transponder is always set to ALT mode. Is it possible to change this behaviour so that it defaults to Standby?
On a different note, there's a lighting mod available in the community that improves the visibility of the landing lights from inside the cockpit. The author of the mod has indicated they'd like it (or an equivalent change) to be incorporated directly into the aircraft. I'll share it here in case Blacksquare isn't already aware of it, as I find it to be a great little improvement: https://flightsim.to/file/61897/black-square-tbm-850-landing-light-window-mod

@paintedfloors Mine always starts up in ALt mode also. Not using Spad or anything else... However I am using the PMS50-GTN-750 for navigation.

@hughesj2 I’m also using just the GNS530 (sometimes x2 and sometimes with the bendix com/nav 2 stack)
Yeah so in our configuration/s there's no other transponder, which explains why others using GTN750 may not see this as that has a transponder in it, whereas we'll be using the dedicated GTX327

I received this from the GTN Discord Team
pms50 — Today at 2:41 AM
After checking, this is definitively an issue at aircraft level.
We have tested by removing the GTN750 packages from the community folder and we get the same result (ALT mode by default).You can fix the issue by yourself:
Search the entry TransponderState in the files apron.FLT, taxi.FLT and runway.FLT
These files are located in the subfolder SimObjects\Airplanes\bksq-aircraft-tbm850 of the TBM850 package
Set the following values:apron.FLT -> TransponderState = 1
taxi.FLT -> TransponderState = 3
runway.FLT -> TransponderState = 3Restart the sim
Hope that helps.

Yeah spot on I've just set apron.FLT -> TransponderState = 4 and it powers on into STBY now

Jut found this video, TBM700 granted but interesting to see it boot straight to ALT mode...At least we have a means to customise to preference now...
