Runway Selection

I have just installed and already I am impressed, the hit on frame rates is very small and as a VR only flyer, I need these.
However, sitting a Gatwick (EGKK) clear weather the planes are taking off and landing at opposite ends on the runway. Is this a problem with the scenery or Traffic Global?
BTW the scenery is Gatwick2000 Extreme

Might be both - add-on airports should work OK if they are set up right originally. Separation and runway choice are something we are looking at at the moment and should be part of an update fairly soon.
many thanks for your feedback - much appreciated.

I'm happy to see someone had brought this up. I have been holding off on purchasing this product until something can be done about runway assignments within the plugin AI. Eg. telling the AI what airport flows to use at a certain airport / time. I fly on line most of the time. Primarily PE where the airports are crickets. So something like this would be great for a small community like PE. But if I don't have control over the AI and which direction they are going to take off and land, then it would be frustrating to land on an assigned runway by ATC and have a bunch of AI landing opposite direction than me. Not fun looking at a 747 landing right at me. Even if it waives off because it "see"'s me on the runway. lol So I don't know if it's possible. But this scenario would be nice. At cruise, I check PE ATIS for my arrival. I find out Portland is landing East. I then go into the tfc Global menu and set PDX to land and depart East. So that should give the plugin time to switch things up, before I even start my descent. Then things would hopefully look somewhat normal by the time I get there. Maybe same at start up, telling the departure airport which runway's to use. Anyway, if you can set this up to behave similarly. I'll bite. Thanks for a great contribution to our community. : )

Thanks for the feedback on this - I think much depends on how an airport is set up in WED. Obviously, TG can't adapt each third party airport on the fly if that airport isn't configured quite right. There may be a simple solution to this - something we are looking into. I have little idea about building airports but I think TG probably requires its own set of protocols for third party airports. It may be something we can amend or provide an FAQ/manual instructions to get the best results.

Thanks for the feedback. Yes i looked at a wed instructional video on how to set up flows at an airport. Not a simple process, but can be done. But it would take a long time to go through all the airports. And places like jfk would be a nightmare and would probably take two days to do. Well for me. Lol Maybe an hour for someone that knows their way around a wed airport. : ). This is a great add on. But here is a pretty well done instructional video on just that. Create airport flows. the main issue with xp at the moment is that xp does not take into account the tailwind element which most rw airport uses for switching up the runway. Usually 10 kts. But otherwise if your good with tedious wed stuff take a look at this. https://youtu.be/uaDqxzR7Rh0

Don't worry - the key principle of TG (and all our content) is 'seamless'. So, XP11 airports shouldn't need tweaking using WED. We will make sure, as best we can, that TG does the hard work of sussing out how to manage traffic at the airport and any differences between setup, layout, whatever will be catered for by the program.

I have Gatwick extreme but don't have this problem.
I do however get it sometimes in Heathrow Extreme.
This, as I was told can just be the wind changing direction, which then causes a turn around of runway direction but any taxiing aircraft will still take off from the runway they were originally told to by ATC even if the wind has changed and now ATC have switched runway headings. -
So i read today there has been at least one substantial update. What does this mean exactly??
"- Change runway flow rules to basic X-Plane rules - first flow, first runway."
Will there ever be an option where as the pilot flying can choose the airport flows on the fly?.
Thanks, Dave
