It is still in development per the last update via these forums in the 'in development' section on 20th May:
"Nothing new to show from the last few months of work apart from many lines of code which don't make for exciting updates. As soon as we have anything for public consumption we will release more news. "
I imagine with a project like this that if there is a cancellation we will be informed. But based on this progress does seem to be continuing.
