I saw Just Flight had hired a new dev team for the 747 from a comment on facebook, is there any intention of rectifying some of the issues with the exterior model? The main ones I can think of are the nose cargo door and side cargo door have improper opening angles, opening far more than they would IRL, and the omnipresent right side upper emergency exit, despite the fact that only some models were equipped with this, as well as the upper emergency exits missing the windows they were equipped with on the exterior model. I don't mind the long wait for these aircraft, but I would be greatly disappointed to see the product released after all this time with such blatant errors. I wish Just Flight and the new dev team the best, and hope that the development smooths out a bit for the 747 and we see it for sale sometime somewhat soon.

@Noob21 Thanks for the continued interest in the project. So, following the addition of our new experienced (and highly-qualified ex-747 pilot) coder to the 747 Classic team, the entire project is undergoing a very thorough review and we are excited to share with you regular updates on progress over the coming weeks and months in the lead up to release for P3D. All the feedback that we’ve received throughout the project will be reviewed and addressed where applicable in due course. Thanks again.

@voice-of-reason sounds excellent, I wish the best to your new team, and I hope there’s some good progress and rectification of some issues. Is there any intention for a combi expansion, and a JT9D-70A engine option? If you guys need an IRL reference for it, there’s a 742 with -70As stored at LFLX iirc.

@voice-of-reason Very nice to hear that the project is gaining momentum again. As things currently stand, is an XP11 (or maybe even XP12) version still planned?

@joenuts I wouldn't hold your breath for it, the Felis 747 is also just around the corner for release. I'm not a man with any knowledge in this sector but personally I think JF might find it more economical to skip the X-Plane version of the 747 and go straight for MSFS after this is released for P3D considering how the Felis 747 might have the XP market already cornered by the time they even think to start development.

@noob21 I understand what you are saying. With all due respect to Felis, he's only got one model currently planned, and that's for the -200pax. It is my understanding that JF are planning, for not only the -200, but the -200F and the -100 as well . I could be wrong, but I understand a visual model already exists for both P3D and XP. In my experience both models of the 747 can exist in the XP market at the same time, as I am sure there are those looking for a more authentic 'classic' freighter experience(visual model and all).

@jafoii I have been in a group in contact with Felis and he says he does plan on producing a freighter 742 as well, but when that is has not quite been established, or whether it will be an expansion or standalone product.

By the way, I’ve found a little public documentation on the 747 that might be of use in fixing some issues as well. I’ve also heard from someone else online that then outer leading edge flaps for the model look too stiff and flat, and should have a bit more of a curve to them.
