Any chance of putting that information which requires a Facebook login to see in a more accessible location please?

@AndyUK You don't need a Facebook login to view that post.

It pulls up a 'log in' popup but there is a 'not now' link so you can go through to the page.

Anyway, what have you got against Facebook?

@Derek I know what you mean about a 'not now' link, I've seen and used that option before, but there's no such link on the page you linked to:

    I don't use facebook because I don't need to.

I've looked and can't say I'm impressed. The 'Custom' FMC turns out to be something that would be more at home in a 737NG rather than a model of one of the types that were fitted in the 146. Am I alone in expecting that the FMC would at least look like one from a 146? What's more the VNAV will be linked to the autopilot, a feature that as far as I'm aware wasn't available in the real aircraft whichever type of FMC was installed.

Why fob your X-Plane customers off with second best when the P3D version does have a prototypical FMC, after all both have the 'Professional' label? The project got off to a good start with the sim version being as close as possible to the real thing so why cut corners now?

Very disappointed with this development but I've learnt a lesson - never buy a half finished item in the belief that the complete version would live up expectations.

    Hi Andy,

Our P3D version uses an existing Universal FMC already developed by one of our development partners. Unfortunately that is only compatible with P3D so we had to work with XP11 developers to find the best FMC for that platform, and we selected the popular UFMC for customisation and integration into the 146. VNAV is available but there's absolutely no need to use it if you'd prefer to stick with real-world operating techniques - the rest of the autopilot will work exactly the same.

    Thanks,
    Martyn

Thanks for the reply Martin. The FMCs that were fitted in the 146 did have a VNAV function but it wasn't able to be coupled to the autopilot as I'm sure you're aware. It was up to the crew to manage the descent in accordance with the 'advice' from the FMC. Will the new version come with updated documentation explaining how to use the custom FMC to follow real-world operating techniques?

There are a couple of other areas in the documentation where what's stated differs from what's modelled, pressurisation and GA on the TMS come to mind. Will you update the manual to reflect the modelling of those systems or will the systems be updated to align with the manual and the real aircraft?

    I await v1.2 with interest.

Is there any update on this?

@Martyn said in ETA of custom FMC:

The custom FMC is in the final stages of testing so it shouldn't be more than a week or two

But that was more than a month ago.
