Chiltern Mainline Class 68 MK3 Coaches Missing!
-
Good evening,
I purchased Chiltern Mainline today and the Class 68 Scotrail loco through Steam!
With the class 68 scenario, the class MK 3 coaches are not showing! I am disappointed considering only bought it today and was looking forward to playing it!
Before, you ask, I have already uninstalled the whole of Train Simulator and completely reinstalled and started from scratch which took several hours!
Everyone else seems to have it running fine so I am at a loss as to why it will not work!
I have attached a screenshot to show you!
I look forward to a speedily reply!
Kind regards

Your best bet would be to contact Just Trains support.

Hi Derek,
Thank you for your reply.
This has taken me all afternoon and evening trying to sort it out, including uninstalling and reinstalling Train Sim which has taken several hours as I have many add-ons!
I'm still looking into it now, I have already purchased the Class 68 Scotrail loco on steam as told by Just Trains in their description before I bought it and few others but noticed that the MK3 coaches for the scenario to work are sliding plug door coaches which as far as I can tell, steam says they are only reskins and I presume I would need to buy Class 43 enhancement on Armstrong Powerhouse and then the freeware plug door enhancement from Alan Thomson to actually have the right coaches? Is this correct? If so, this should be in the description of what to get to have it work properly but then I could be wrong, I'm not sure, it all seems a bit confusing.
I look forward to any help.
Kind regards

Hi everyone,
Just to let you know, I requested a refund from Steam and bought direct on Just Trains and everything works fine!
So the Just Trains Chiltern Mainline on Steam, is either corrupt, not updated or missing files! I have more scenarios now showing and the problem I had now works fine!
No idea why, but has made me think better to buy direct on Just Trains if it is a Just Trains product rather than on Steam.
Kind regards

The Steam version works fine. However, the exact content may be different to the version sold by Just Trains. Reasons are:
- Steam installer
- Steam Achievements compatibility
- As well as scenarios for default content, Just Trains always try to include scenarios that will work with a range of popular add-ons (including ones from other developers such as AP). Steam removes these leaving just the scenarios that work with default setup - although, of course, not all defaults are the same, depending on when you bought the original train game. I should add that you don't NEED any other content, unless stated. Just that there are extra scenarios if you HAVE other content.
- Sometimes liveries and TOC branding must be removed due to licensing issues.
- The route itself is identical.

Hi Derek,
Thank you for your reply.
If steam have less content and scenarios that will work properly, then they shouldn't advertise it on the product page, that is false advertising and misleading as I bought it on steam thinking I would have everything that is stated in the description and scenarios list that they say but were missing.
I spent hours trying to figure out why one scenario wasn't working properly, there was no mention on their site that some may not work as you need extra downloads from 3rd party websites.
I purchased it again direct from yourselves and much happier as more things work.
I will keep in mind next time that Just Trains does work with other developers and will continue to purchase direct from yourselves.
Thank you for clearing few things up for me.
Kind regards

The scenarios that use other content are all removed from the Steam version. If you download the software from Just Trains and don't have the other software the scenario won't work, so that isn't the reason you had a problem. I think if you'd reinstalled the Steam version it may well have sorted it, but there you go.
