BS bonanza engine rpm doesnt change
-
Hello, when I start the engine on the blacksquare bonanza and baron the engine only runs at idle, but when I move the throttle the engine just dies on me. I am doing the correct start up procedure and my mixture and propeller is at full forward position
-
@tyleraviator1999 are you sure your throttle axis is the right way 'round? Once you have the engine running at starting throttle, it should run up to the 1000-1200 RPM "ramp idle" just fine.
-
@laurreth I dont know. I know I do not come across the issue on any other airplane.
-
@tyleraviator1999 Assuming you're doing everything right, it is a weird situation. Did you check failures just to make sure? Also make sure you don't have anything "weird" bound to mixture axes, some planes in MSFS react very badly when you do and will silently turn off the fuel supply even though nothing makes it look like that.
-
@laurreth I checked the failures and nothing is there and I will try and check the mixture axes, but as I have said I have not experienced this in any other plane

here is a video of the issue

@tyleraviator1999 That loud "POP" sounds like the mixture gets leaned really quickly.
Does the same happen if you carefully ride the throttle up to 1000-1200 RPM and let the engine warm up? Having the same procedure videoed from the cockpit with all the controls and instruments in sight to the end might also give some clues.

@tyleraviator1999 Try to ride up the throttle slowly and let it sit at 1100RPM for a bit, the engine needs to warm up.
-
@laurreth so as soon as I hear the engine catch I slowly advance the throttle and it seems to run and dont run into any issues
-
@tyleraviator1999 You can leave them at starter throttle for a bit. The point is to get them to 1000-1200 slowly and then let them warm up for a bit before demanding power during the run-up.
