Update from developer on existing aircraft and FS 2024 compatibility?
-
Just checking to see if we can get an update on compatibility with 2024. I am missing my little Velocity. :)
-
I haven't made any official statements since the release of the simulator, but I will address the Velocity directly. The porting process was relatively easy (still much more difficult than we were led to believe it would be), and the Velocity is completely compatible with MSFS 2024. Unfortunately, I have to package up a completely separate version of it for MSFS 2024, so I'm just waiting for some of the other bugs to settle out before I start releasing new versions for MSFS 2024 with complete compatibility. Us developers are also still communicating best guidance to each other with respect to avionics, like the Working Title G3X and PMS/TDS GTN. Thanks for being patient, and I'm glad you're looking forward to it!

@Black-Square can we expect news on the Starship ?
-
@ADFGVX I concur on that, it would be really nice to see the Starship as a Christmas gift but I figure with the wrench thrown in things around 2024 we probably won’t be seeing until early next year at this point. Perfection can’t be rushed though.

@Black-Square Yes. The Velocity does work quite well in 2024, however, some sounds are missing. Namely, engine, switches and exterior sounds. The Turbo whine is still present.
Should I file a bug report?
-
@Black-Square Good to know. Thanks for the update. I hate the position that Microsoft/Asobo put most developers in. It should have never happened that way. Flight sim is nothing without its dedicated community of developers and it was sad the way they were treated. Hang in there. I am sure you guys will get back on track soon, even with this completely unnecessary wrench that they threw in the works.

@Black-Square Any chance we will be able to use the Velocity in carrier mode? I think Jorg said something about only aircraft that are available through Marketplace being usable for career mode and/or some other special criteria, I'm not sure if that would require a dedicated version or if it rules out the Velocity altogether.
