Downside to using MSFS Real time traffic with FS Traffic?
-
Besides bogging down the frame rates or performance, is there a downside to using both FS Traffic and setting the Real Time Traffic on in MSFS?
I'm asking because I flew from KBFI to CYWG at around 1500z (8:00 am PDT) and there was no traffic enroute. I saw some planes at CYWG when I landed (around 10:30 am PDT) but I would think that there would be traffic during my flight.
Thanks.

FS Traffic does fully support the default Ai Traffic modes with model matching, but the main limitation of using 'Real-Time Online' or 'Ai Offline' will likely be that the model/livery matching is handled by the simulator, so it may not always be 100% accurate. For instance, when using 'Real-Time Online', if you don't have the exact aircraft mode/livery that is operating the flight, the simulator will find the closest match to substitute it, which could be an aircraft type/livery that only operates on the other side of the world.
With FS Traffic controlling the traffic, the FS Traffic module will either attempt to substitute the missing model/livery for another aircraft that is already generated at the airport, or it won't attempt to substitute anything at all (depending on the Traffic Substitution Mode selected on the Options page of the Traffic Control Centre).
As a side note, if you are using FS Traffic to control the traffic, then you can adjust the amount of cruise traffic that gets generated by decreasing the "Time Before Cruise Traffic Spawning (Mins)" value on the Options page of the Traffic Control Centre. A lower value will mean cruise traffic gets generated more often.
Hope that helps.
