Rocker - style switches are difficult ( turbine duke)

I find the rocker style switches for things like starter, ignition and fuel pumps a little difficult -- difficult to tell exactly where they wind up. Any tips?

I use the mouse scroll wheel to operate those 3-position switches and it works pretty fine. But you need a mouse with well-defined scroll wheel "hops", some mice tend to have misaligned scroll wheel positions with the output they send, like sometimes two, sometimes none, for each scroll wheel hop.
