Battery Dead - can't recharge it
-
The battery is dead and I cannot find a way to recharge it. External Power On, restart the flight, ..... nothing works.
-
When you see the red overlay, it doesn't mean the battery is discharged, it means you have destroyed the connection to the battery by overheating it (see the color around the battery on the engine page, or the instrument on the copilot's panel). The battery will be repaired and recharged by either the "recharge battery" button on the engine page, or the softkey on the systems page of the weather radar display.

@Black-Square thanks for your quick response.
I tried both "recharge battery" buttons (engine left/right) but they didn't work. Perhaps these recharge battery buttons don't work when the battery has overheated.
The weather radar display was not available, I guess due the battery overheat issue the weather display showed nothing.
I had to restart the flight simulator to fix this issue. Now the battery is good again.

Oh yeah, you would be correct about that. I disconnected the weather radar from its persistent electrical source when I removed the failure options from it.
I just checked the code, and it definitely should be recharging the battery, reconnecting it, and setting the temperature to ambient. I'll check this in the simulator for you later.

I found the issue, a wrong LVAR:var_batteryDisconnect set to 1 on Spad.Next was causing the scenario where the battery seemed overheated (in fact it was just disconnected). I removed this LVAR and now the recharge battery button is working as expected.

Excellent! Thanks for reporting back to save me some time! I'm glad to hear that everything is working now :)
