According to the manual, the secondary avionic device should drive the pilots HSI if no GPS is selected as primary. I, for example, was trying to use a single GNS430 as NAV1 together with the KX 155B in the primary slot, but I can’t seem to get it working. When directing to an airport, the HSI doesn’t seem to get any NAV-signal from the 430, even though it’s the only gps I’m using. I’ve gotten it to work a few times when using a single GTN650, but more often than not, nothing happens and there’s no signal to the HSI when using a single gps in the secondary slot. It doesn't pick up information such as desired track either.

When equipping a gps in the primary slot, everything seems to work fine. Im using the Working Title-fix for the 430/530, flying the piston.
Has anyone had the same problem? Maybe I’m just slow and missing something obvious?

I confirm, I have been able to reproduce.
Equipped with KX155 and GNS430 I'm unable to get the course displayed on the HSI. It work fine with the GTN650
I m running the sim in SU14. I can't relate about the last WT build part of the beta SU15

The GNS 430 is the one exception. Working Title does not have any way for me to access the GPS variables from a secondary unit, unlike the other GPS developers. I have requested this feature in the past, but they obviously have their hands full with other work.

I thought I mentioned this exception in the manual, though... Oh, I see. I said "for example" when referring to the combinations that would work, implying that there were others that would work, as well. I will clarify that in the manual. Thank you for the notes.

@Black-Square Thank you for the quick reply. I see, at least it’s good to know that I hadn’t just missed some hidden nav-switch 😁 I’ll continue using the GTN650 instead, hopefully that’ll work fine. I much prefer the smaller gps-units over the larger ones, so I’m glad that it’s possible to use them separately.

Been loving the plane so far, can’t wait to spend more hours flying 🙂
