TS Classic Suggeston - Highland Mainline North (Inverness - Aviemore & Aviemore - Broomhill)
-
In 2021 you briefly started developpement on the full Highland Mainline from Perth to Inverness. I'm not sure why it was quietly discontinued but I'm pretty sure it has to do with the sheer length of the route.
I think downsizing the project to just Inverness - Aviemore - Broomhill would be worth it for the following reasons :
-Diverse scenario opportunities:
*LNER Highland Chieftain (HST or Class 800 available)
*Caledonian Sleeper (Class 67 + Mk2e + Mk3 available)
*ScotRail stopping at Carrbridge (Class 170 or Class 158 available)
*Excursion on the Strathpey Railway (I'm not up to date on which Steam locomotives are available, but there are Mk1s available)
*Bad weather causing issues on the line-Landmarks:
*Culloden Viaduct
*Aultnaslanach Viaduct
*Findhorn Viaduct
*Soldier's Head
*Slochd Summit
*Cairngorms National Park
*Strathpey Railway-Inverness model can be updated from the Kyle of Lochalsh line, and perhaps some of the track and terrain has already been laid out (speculating here).
-This route would be a more manageable 45 miles long and quite distinct from even the West Highland line which sees far lesser speeds and not quite the same diversity of rolling stock.
-There would still be opportunity for further developpement, perhaps creating an Inverness-centered network a bit like how the Midland Mainline is still being expanded.
-It's much likely in high demand, since proposals have already been made in the DTG forums.
