P3DV5 | Honeycomb Alpha + Bravo | JF146 | Engine not cranking over on start-up | F/D, VOR/DME needles and NAV1 green indicator flickering
-
G'Day JF team,
Need a bit of help here.
Just upgraded to the Honeycomb suite (Alpha Yoke + Bravo Throttle.)
I've noticed after upgrading and calibrating the Honeycomb profiles. I can no longer get the engines to crank over after engaging start.
I'd go through the entire checklist making sure everything is ready for start, and having worked on the 146 in real life, I've used that experience as well to help try rectify the problem.
Once I'm about to start. the following happens:
- I engage the starter switch for the selected engine. N1 starts to rise. I can hear the engine sound in the background.
- N2 starts to rise.
- EGT not moving.
- Once it gets to 15% N1, the engine spooling up sound starts to spool down, and N2 is stuck at 18%. Oil T&P's are low, yet Oil QTY if full.
- I can hear the engine spool up, then spool down and it's repetitive.
- N1 is stuck 24.5% and isn't moving any further.
Now, when I select the options on the EFB i.e., ready for take-off, or the power button in the top left corner, engines come up and everything is peachy, yet it defeats the realism of starting from cold and dark.
What I have also noticed is that the F/D and VOR/DME needles are flickering like mad, and a flicker of NAV 1 on the indicators just right of the ADI.
I have done a full uninstall and re-install of the software.
I've also gone through the mappings in the Honeycomb configurator to make sure there's nothing remotely attached to engine functions that may be interfering with the engine start process, but I can't seem to find the problem and am now seeking a solution to fix it.
Would appreciate all of your help at the earliest convenience.
Kind Regards,

Hi All,
Please disregard. Problem solved. It was mapping issues in the configurator which have now been rectified and all is good in the flight simulator world.
Cheers,
Chuck
