Avionics no power?
-
Just installed, but cannot fly. Avionics will not power up.
Circuit breakers are good.
Anybody have a suggestion?

@seven7tango Maybe the battery needs charging? What battery voltage does the EDF show? Try charging it using the charge button on the EDF.

@sender46 The aircraft starts just fine, fuel pump gives good pressure for the start. Nav lights all work.
Just discovered that I cannot move the controls on the GNS430 or GNS530, nor the GPS 100 unit.
The ATC window tells me that there is no power to the com radios.
It's a head scratcher...

Got it! Turns out the Avionics Emergency Bus Switch was in the "off" position. :-)
-
@seven7tango The emergency switch is (as the name implies) only for emergency use. There is another switch to the left of it, left of the blue fan switch, that tuns the avionics on. It's hidden in the default view.

@n293wk That makes so much more sense. I'll move the camera and take a look, perhaps bind a key to the switch if possible.
It's a shame that we're all (sort of) gun shy about systems and impaired functionality after every Sim Update, especially with our third-party aircraft. I try not to immediately assume it's "broken" and - especially on an aircraft new to me, as this one is - try to uncover the source of the problem before calling for help.
One other thing I have noticed is that the ability to use the mouse to tune the radios on the rotary dials is inoperative. As a workaround, I bound keys to increment and decrement the frequencies of the nav radios; tuning the primary com radio is taken care of in the ATC window of course. I believe this may be something to do with SU7, as everything else seems to work as it should.
Thanks for your help!

@seven7tango I think the issue with the butttons you are describing may be the problem introduced with 0.3.1, discussed here: https://community.justflight.com/topic/2965/new-issues-since-update-v0-3-1-solved
I was able to resolve it with a reinstall, but others say it's intermittent regardless, and I haven't had a chance to test it much with family in town.

Additionally, I have found that the avionics are off unless a comm switch is set to on and the corresponding nav unit switch is set to voice. I.e. both Com 1 and Nav 1 have to be switched on, or both Com 2 and Nav 2 have to be switched on.
Also seems that some of the com frequencies are not selectable, such as 126.575. I seem to remember that JF had a workaround for this in earlier versions…..
