Remove GNS?

First of all, I'd like to say thanks for the continued development of these planes!
I've noticed that turning the master battery switch on/off causes the sound of a volume knob being turned all the way up or down, which ends up sounding like a startling buzzing sound.
My understanding is that even when the kx170 radios are selected, the GNS is still present in the background, only hidden, which means you can still hear it. Is it possible (by modifying some config files or something) to remove the GNS option and therefore remove it completely instead of just hiding it?
