Can anybody advise on sensitivity/settings. When I try to take off the aircraft veers to the the right. As soon as I try to correct it lurches to the left. Once airborne it tries to nose dive, then barrel roll and then loops. Have to use autopilot to stabilise. Then altitude hold causes a 4,000ft/min climb followed by a 4,000ft/min descent. What am I doing wrong?

First, you should go to the Controls / Sensitivity screen to verify that your Joystick is operating correctly and that the rudder axis is properly assigned and operating. I recommend setting the sensitivity on each axis to produce a completely linear response, with a small dead zone at the center.

Next, after lining up on the runway for takeoff make sure the flaps are set to 1/2, and since the fuel tanks default to a full fuel load, set the tailplane trim to 1 to 2 degrees Up. Then, with the parking brake set, advance the throttle to 95 to 100% RPM and release the parking brake. At about 100 knots, ease back on the stick to raise the nose to about 5 degrees nose up and hold it there until the aircraft gains enough speed to takeoff. Once you are airborne, raise the gear and adjust the trim to establish and hold a 10 degree nose up climb attitude. Raise the flaps when your speed is between 150 and 200 knots. Reduce power to keep the RPM below 100% as you climb. This aircraft normally has a very high climb rate of up to 9300 fpm.

Don't engage autopilot ALT HOLD until after you have leveled off at your cruising altitude. If you engage it while you are still climbing it will cause the aircraft to quickly nose back down to try to return to the altitude you were at when you engaged it.

Do you have legacy or modern selected?

@ockwellk ok, it was worth a try, I had about the same problem and it was the wrong flight model selected. Calibrate your gear and try it in another Sim and see if it behaves the same way.

Thanks, the sensitivity suggestions fixed it. Mine were certainly not linear...in fact all over the place. Just done a perfect flight EGNH-EGLC no issue and handled perfectly :). The tip re tail plane trim was good as the aircraft gently elevated and then a perfect takeoff. I knew it was something I had set incorrectly and thanks for your advice.
