Compatiblility Traffic Global for X-Plane 11
-
Hi, I wanted to share my experience with the plugin Traffic Global for X-Plane 11.
I must say this is one of the nicest plugins out of the box. You install it and it works. It's plane density is nice and you will see other traffic when you fly. Again a very nice add-on, BUT....
It has drawbacks. Not on your frame rate or other X-Plane related issue, no! When you are a SIMMER, you like to have the full experience, just like me. So you probably have installed AutoGate, RealityXP for more GPS experience, 124thATC to have a better ATC experience, or worse Pilot2ATC which uses XPUIPC and probably you do have add-ons to give your X-Plane a more realistic feeling when flying. I would say most of the serious SIMMERS have this kind of plugins installed.
So this makes your sim experience as close as it gets. But what would you do if you couldn't use these plugins? Wouldn't it feel stripping your X-Plane back to its basics? Well, that's exactly the problem with Traffic Global for X-Plane 11!
Once you have installed Traffic Global for X-Plane you will experience sudden crashes. Crashes you never had before. Maybe if you are lucky you get a short flight done, but believe me, your X-Plane Simulation will crash! Why, well, because of all your fun add-ons you run with Traffic Global. Maybe you are searching like me for a solution or try to fix this issue. Maybe you go from VULKAN to OpenGL, but believe me, it will crash!
I spend weeks to search why my simulation crashed all the time when it worked fine for months. I was looking into logs and expended my search to the Windows Logs and there it was. An error saying that my Traffic Global module crashed the application. At first I had something like: "oh that must be a driver issue" , or I had a mod that wasn't compatible. After a while of not fixing this issue I started to contact Just Flight support with my findings and the log. The support is great! I mean they are contacting you within 24 hours. They try to help you and they are the best I have encounter of all commercial add-ons for X-Plane. Compliment guys!
To my surprise the support is very good and the guy was very friendly and came right to the point. He sad that he sees from my logs that I used 124thATC and asked me if I also used XPUIPC, RealityXP, AutoGate ... actually all the fun stuff that you have when you are simming, and finished it with that these plugins are known to crash with Traffic Global since version 11.50 of X-Plane.
BUMP!
I mean what to say more. A great product but it's just not playing well with THE most important plugins a simmer is using. I tried every plugin one by one but, indeed, I get a crash as soon as I activate one of my favorite plugins.
So, if you consider to by this product, by all means it is worth the 60 bugs, but be warned you will have X-Plane with nothing else running to enjoy the add-on.
Please, if someone has a solution for this, let us SIMMERS know. Maybe JustFlight will come with a patch for this but I doubt this will be in the near feature, if at all.
What are your experiences and have you found a workaround others die to know? Please let me know because I love this add-on!

BUMP!
Thank you for posting this. I am glad that I saw this before purchasing Traffic Global.
It's the most popular add-on we have for X-Plane and one of the most popular X-Plane utilties across the board. It has been very highly reviewed and regularly updated to work with all manner of other plugins - not to mention that other plugin developers have adapted their software to work better with it as it is so popular. This post is from nearly a year ago and fails to mention that X-Plane does have a pattern of CTD with all sorts of plugins. Worth reading some reviews of the software before taking this as any sort of representative example of a user experience.
