    Hello Everyone,

I've only just joined the forum and the Flight Simulator community after getting my hands on a copy of Flight Simulator 2004 : A Century of Flight and the Just Flight RAF Vulcan add-on for FS2004/2002.

I've managed to get FS2004 to work without issues on Windows 10, but just cannot get the Vulcan add-on to even install.

The installation program starts to open and then just instantly closes. I've tried all kinds of different compatibility settings but nothing makes it work.

I was just wondering if anyone has any tips for me to get it to work so that I can install it ?

    Thanks,
    Rick

If you have it on disc then it won't run. One of the, er, features of Windows 10 is that it blocks most old games on copy-protected discs.

There is no easy way round it I am afraid.
FS2004 is 17 years old and that Vulcan is even older - it was updated for 2004. If you have a modern PC (assuming it is, with Win10) you would probably be best off getting an up-to-date game such as FSX or X-Plane.

There is a new version of the Vulcan available for each of those:

    Thanks Derek,

Yes, my PC is fairly modern (around 3 years old) and running Windows 10.

Well that is seriously annoying, but I will have to look into getting one of those 2 games and save up for the Vulcan add-on.

I've not used either of those games before, which one is the better of the 2 ?

    Thanks & Merry Christmas.
    Rick

Beatles or Rolling Stones? Labour or Conservative? United or City?
Of course, which sim to use is much more contentious than music, politics or football, as five minutes in any of the FS forums will demonstrate.

FSX is cheaper (and older) but, other than that, it is horses for courses.
There is a new version of Microsoft Flight Simulator out, but don't expect to see aircraft add-ons as complex as Vulcan for a while yet.

This is getting dated but might be worth a look.
