XP12 v1.0: station box snags
-
Hiya,
Other than the cupholder issue, I've run into some issues with the station box (audio selector panel). There's three of them, but the right-seat and jump-seat units are clones using the same datarefs/commands.
I like that you can separately use the left and right station box depending on which seat you're in / closest to!
- can only hear NAV1/2 if the volume is turned up to 100%. Anything less than 100% and it's muted
- DME audio receivers appear inop (they should play the station identifier at a higher pitch, 1350Hz vs 1020Hz)
- if NAV1 and DME1 are both selected, or NAV2 and DME2, nothing is heard
- the BOOM/MASK selector knob starts off in the 12 o'clock position but as soon as you touch it, it can only be turned left for BOOM or right for MASK
- on the left unit, the DME1 knob animation is 180° out i.e. it rotates from 1 o'clock to 11 o'clock, not 7 o'clock to 5 o'clock
- on the left unit, the INT knob can rotate continuously i.e. without end stops. (on the right and jumpseat units it has end stops.)
- on the left unit, the rightmost transmit (square) switch is unlabelled - should it be labelled PA like the others?
- on the right unit, some of the knobs appear to be off-centre to the holes in the panel:
(see also the BOOM/MASK switch in the default 12 o'clock position) - the VHF1/2 square transmit switches are linked between units - so if I press PA on the right box, then VHF2 on the left box, the right box has VHF2 and PA both selected (I realise this is just cosmetic!)
DME1 facing backwards on the left unit with all volumes turned up to max (except INT that rotates endlessly) - and I've just this moment noticed the captain can't listen to HF2!
Would it be possible to add INOP stickers over the VHF3, HF1/2, and DME1/2 labels on all three station boxes? And ideally - could these stickers be separate meshes with individual show/hide attributes driven by dummy datarefs, so they could be easily removed if, say, a HF radio was virtually equipped (I think Vatsim supports this somewhere) or, down the line, a more comprehensive navaid audio system was integrated?
