    Hi Nick,

I was flying the Bonanza with the new 1.1 version today and I noticed a difference in how the AP disconnect works. I have a button bound to Toggle Autopilot Disconnect in MSFS on my yoke and have traditionally used that in your aircraft to disconnect the AP and then the FD with the two clicks. I am certain it worked that way in version 1.0.

Today with 1.1, I noticed I had to hit the button three times. The first, when AP is engaged, disengages the AP as it should. The second almost looks like it disables and then re-engages the FD, as the FD bars drop out of sight, then reappear, and it looks like a pitch/roll mode is enabled, as all other mode lights go out on the annunciator. The third press disables the FD bars for good.

Two things to note with this: I see that you are no longer including an LVar in the manual for the AP disconnect, so I did not source the old one from the manual of another aircraft, but I did try calling the K event directly via FSUIPC and saw the same thing (unsurprisingly). Given my history of using this successfully I don't think something changed on my end. The other observation is that if you hit the AP button to immediately engage the AP and then select your modes, it does work with the normal two presses; only activating something like HDG and ALT or NAV and ALT and then activating the AP, which is normally the order I engage it in, requires three presses.

I am using the WT 530 and 430 combo for my avionics stack, but I use the same stack in all my BS products and it's never been an issue.

Quick answer: Nothing changed with the autopilot at all between updates, but I have been seeing some people reporting oddities since the last SU4 Beta download.

I'm not in the beta, I'm on the released SU3.

And therefore in 2024 since I forgot to mention that earlier.

@Black-Square You were correct (as is tradition). I keep a copy of all my flight sim installers in the cloud for system restoration purposes, and I hadn't updated the Bonanza from the release version. I removed 1.1 and installed 1.0 and saw the same behavior. Memory is a tricky thing, huh?

The manually specifically calls out the two-step disengage, similar to your other aircraft. Is the Bonanza working as expected?

EDIT: I had forgotten I wanted to do more testing when I wrote this. With the Piston Duke v1.2, the disconnect works in the specified two steps. The Baron functions the same as the Bonanza. I didn't think to test the TBM because I forgot I had it at the time (I searched my installed programs for "Black Square," and the TBM shows up as "BlackSquare" 😂 )
