Is this purposely modelled to do that?</p>

Also my throttle indent function is set to ‘toggle engine 1 fuel valve’.<br />
All now unassigned, no more idle engine issues.<br />
Why would these  conflict with the running of the engine mid flight?</p>

Please check that you don't have any controls assigned to the APU STARTER or ENGINE AUTO START in the MSFS controls menu.</p>
