If I set it to SBY and exit the aircraft it is set to ALT when I next enter for a new flight.

I am not sure but I think it could be tied to the 'hidden' GPS like 750 etc being set to ALT and overriding it. I have had issues in the past in other aircraft with hot swapping of radios where the 'hidden' GPS influences certain things. May not be this but not sure.

I am flying with the basic radio stack so twin MX170B and the RNAV 511 with no GPS.

The transponder code saves and loads with no issues.

Oh and loving the RNAV 511 ... pure quality

I have tested - hot swapping to a TDS 750 and setting the transponder on there to ALT - hot swapping back to normal radios - set the transponder unit to SBY. Exit and reload aircraft it is back on ALT.

The [system] interprets in which situation or what kind of surface you start your next session.
I'm not very into it but there are always some "incontinuities" within MSFS (24) and different aircrafts.

Sometimes, not always, when I start a flight, the txp is set to ALT rather than OFF as it was when I finished the previous flight. I know it was turned to OFF at the ned of the last flight because I checked it. I also had one flight where it started with the master switch on and the anticols and strobe lights also turned on. No biggie. I really pleased that state saving is now so much more than previous - I don’t need to retune all the frequencies for my next flight originating from where the previous finished.
