Been recently flying the Duchess and really enjoying it, but I'm having trouble understanding the compass slave/free system. Looking at some documentation (https://www.bendixking.com/content/dam/bendixking/en/documents/document-lists/downloads-and-manuals/006-08256-0004-KCS-55A-Pilots-Guide.pdf) it's my impression that having it on slave should sync the compass with a sensor in the wing or tail that corrects for drift. However, as I travel east across the US, it seems to be drifting off, and I have to correct it by switching it to free mode. I can confirm it's off with the 430 and the secondary compass.

There's not a ton of documentation on correcting this, but it seems that the CW/CCW switch does this. However that only works on "Free" for me.

Is there some documentation on how this works? I've looked for docs or videos and not found much. I've also combed through the docs for the aircraft to no avail.

I'd love to understand more about this, so any and all information is greatly appreciated!
